Plating thickness alone is not a complete measure of durability. Base preparation, polishing, barrier layers, the gold deposit, protective coating and wear conditions all influence performance.
Confirm the specification in writing
Record the base metal, plating color, nominal thickness, nickel requirements, protective finish, testing method and approved sample as the production reference.
